Welcome to
User Experience, UI Engineering and Design
I strive to create a simple and functional experience for users. Clean, crisp, polished layouts, and designs let users know your product can be trusted.
Layout and functionaly are absolutely essential to a users experience. Let me help you make a site that fuctions and performs as well as it looks.
It is my passion to constantly be creating. Making new, fresh and eye catching designs, tailored to my customers.
I am Meg O'Roark, a designer from Kansas City. Fresh from University of Kansas Coding Certificate Program.
I am passionate about making clean, crisp designs that not only make for a simpler user experience, but one they will turn to time after time. I enjoy not only helping create sites but really getting to know my clients and letting their personality and character shape the design. Creating a product that is uniquely theirs.
While this is most of my focus lately, it barely scratches the surface
Skilled and practiced in both front and back end, I am proficient in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Firebase, Node, MySQL, MongoDB, Express, Handlebars, & React. Currently studying Android, and always polishing up in React, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Engineering
Kennel Keeper is a volunteer task manager for shelters. It allows admin to view which volunteer is on shift, what general or animal specific tasks they've completed, and have yet to complete.
Kennel Keeper was built with small shelters as it's focus. Shelters that survive based on volunteering lack the tools and capital to have a system to manage shelter volunteers, pets, and tasks. Kennel Keeper provides a simple shelter manager allowing the shelters days to be streamlined and productive as possible.
This was a collabrative project. My responsiblities included building the react components, calling from the database, and general front end functionality.
identity / logo
Espresso Yourself is a soon opening coffee house in Shawnee, Kansas.
Espresso Yourself's owners are two of some of the most artistic, colorful and creative people you will ever meet. Their logo was hand-drawn by a close friend and tattoo artist. It was also unfortunately mis-spelled. Rather than have him re-do the logo, I was able to fix these things and keep those small details that make their logo uniquely theirs.
Front End Engineering
A fun little numbers game using Bootstap, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
back end engineering
Backend application using Node.js and MySQL. A sample store allowing you to add and "buy" items, updating the database.
API engineering
